Our notebooks are crafted with care from Cannabis Sativa fibres commonly known as hemp. Hemp is a versatile and renewable plant that has been used for centuries to produce a wide range of products, including paper. This alternative material mitigates the needless act of logging our precious trees.
Our cover design is screen-printed by hand and the emblem is gold foil.
Hemp paper has a grounding texture that adds character to the note-making experience. It is also naturally acid-free, which ensures that the pages won't yellow or deteriorate over time, allowing your notes and thoughts to be preserved for years to come.

Alternatively, our creative expressions can be explored in tangible format. The raw workings of our minds are best kept within the covers of a notebook. Physical media can be shared in a more engaging social scenario that celebrates creation and can also be kept safe in tangible archives.
Hemp provides us with a truly sustainable material for the practice of note-making. It also happens to be archival due to its durable and resilient fibres, safeguarding our creations for generations.

The screen-printed cover design of our notebooks is developed from the humble beginnings of a meditative doodle that we call a ‘Tone’. The Tone resembles a body of water in motion and also visualises a collective journey of note making.
The image has repeatedly landed upon the pages of our notebooks as a feel good exercise and has now found its way into becoming the current cover design.

The Australian hemp industry is still developing. As such, our notebooks are currently made in India where hemp has a rich history, making them experts in the craft. We are on a mission to one day have our notebooks made right here in Australia. So, please contact us at collaborate@truehouse.co if you can assist us in this endeavour.
The nature of all things crafted by hand is that the quality does vary to an acceptable degree. Although we take care with quality control in order to bring you the best product possible - there are slight variations in: page number, subtle defects in the screen-printed cover designs and gold foiling of the emblem. The paper also can vary in perfection, with some pages having creases, folds or marks.
