Creativity is a spiritual journey

The Notebook Club is a space for members of the community to come together in creative communion to journey through the mindful practice of note-making. 

We are searching for eleven participants to join us on a 9 week voyage through the magic of a Sydney Autumn~Winter.

Each week we delve into a different theme, utilising our simple but powerful formula designed to recalibrate creativity from a state of dissonance into resonance.

We will witness the changing of the season around us and within, as we move from Autumn to Winter and explore the art of note-making.

You may already be a note-maker or you may wish to become one. Either way, our course offers a friendly environment and easy formula that anyone can follow to find their true creative nature, celebrating our unique voice within a like-hearted community.

Towards the end of the Voyage, we will compile our Notes into a mini publication, showcasing our collective journey.

    • Each week we begin our session with a short yarn to set the theme for the day

    • The yarn is followed by a stream of consciousness journaling activity.

    • Then we spend a good portion of time experimenting with different mediums upon the pages of our notebooks to express our observations around us and within, either relevant to the theme or totally wild.

    • We finally come together in small groups to share our experience in an active listening activity.

    • Feel free to hang around afterwards for a picnic and a chat

    • The final session will be dedicated to putting together the Mini-Publication

    • Improved resonance with natural rhythms and seasons

    • Increased awareness of the world around us

    • Unleash creativity and cultivate mindfulness

FAQs

  • Not at all! This workshop is for all levels. The nice thing about Note-Making is that anyone can do it.

  • As the workshops are located at the Maiden Pavilion (covered area within the Botanic Gardens) we intend to still go ahead with light rain.

    Don’t be afraid! Bring an umbrella and raincoat.

    If the weather is relentless, we will likely have to cancel the session and will communicate with participants.

  • Ah, the great mystery! We are a young couple with experience in art and design and have a deep reverence for nature. Come along and meet us in real life!

    We are the facilitators, yet we stand beside and with you. We, too, are on this journey of discovery. We provide the space for the magic to unfold, the rest is a creative communion between us all.

  • The first session commences on Saturday 17th May 2025, at 10am.

    It runs consecutively for 9 weeks, with the final session on the 12th July.

  • These workshops have been designed as a journey through the seasons. To get the most out of it, we require participants to commit to the duration of the Voyage.

    We understand that life happens, and you may have to miss one or two sessions. That is okay. All we ask is you do your best to attend them all.

  • The price of our Voyage is already extraordinarily low. We would offer it for free, however, research shows there is more value placed on something with an energy exchange. As currency is the modern day energy exchange, we are offering this Voyage for a small fee.

    The value of what is included in The Notebook Club far exceeds the cost to sign up.

    If you can’t afford the full price, you’re welcome to pay the concession price.

    We will not be requiring any proof of concession. You may pay what is within your means.
